Ross was able to complete a successful 30 year career in the Australian Army, until he was medically retired in 2017. In his last 6 years of service, Ross's portfolio involved the leadership, management and mentoring of personnel within his unit. His key focus here was soldier welfare, including rehabilitation management of injured soldiers, as well as supporting their families.

He has completed the 200hr VETOGA Yoga Teacher Training in the USA, which is a Veteran specific program designed for Veterans to deliver Yoga programs back to their respective communities. Qi Gong Workshop

With Michele Bisetto

Saturday 13th October 3pm

Qi Gong is the physical practice aligned with Traditional Chinese Medicine.  It is a similar practice to tai Chi.  With regular practice Qi Gong markedly reduces anxiety and stress and calms the busy mind.

The three main principles of Qi Gong are the concentration of body movements, the breath and the mind. Qi Gong has both a dynamic (Yang) and stillness (Yin) component and can be referred to as a mindful or meditation practice.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

In this Qi Gong workshop Michele will lead you through two practices.

  • Liu He Gong - Six Unity or 6 Harmony Exercises

The Liu He Gong or ‘six unity exercise’ is an ancient practice influenced by Daoism and Traditional Eastern Medicine. The word Liu He refers to 6 directions: Up, Down, East, West, South and North. The six standing exercises incorporate gentle flowing movements with breath work in all six directions. This allows the practitioner to be an integral part of the universe. The movements create a supple and flexible body and a tranquil spirit.

  • Zhan Zhuang - Standing like a tree

Zhan Zhuang or ‘standing like a tree’ are 6 core exercises for internal martial arts training. These static standing postures assist in building and balancing the qi in your body and potentially develop your internal energy for self healing.

THE FACILITATOR:

Michele Bisetto
Being a Shiatsu therapist, Yoga Teacher and Tang Soo Tao martial artist, Michele approaches each new session as a beginner, with an open & inquisitive mind. Michele’s many decades of experience in five interrelated disciplines, shiatsu and meridian therapy, martial arts, yoga, qi gong and tai chi will be integrated and shared during this workshop. She hopes to impart some of what she has studied, in the hope you might be inspired to explore new ways of moving and simply ‘being’.

YOUR INVESTMENT:

Regular $75 / Annual Members $65
